عُرف دافيد بن غوريون باسم “رجل الهجرة الثانية”، وهو من أطلق شعار “الدولة قادمة” ومن ثم أعلن قيام دولة “إسرائيل”. تقلّد منصب رئيس الحكومة الإسرائيلية لمدة عقد بعد النكبة، أي حتى بداية عام 1963. كان بن غوريون أول رئيس للحكومة ووزيرًا للدفاع، وكان جزءاً من حزب العمل الصهيوني. استوطن بن غوريون في فلسطين مطلع عام 1906، وفي سنينه الأولى عمل كمزارع في بؤر الاستيطان اليهودية التي أقيمت في “بيتح تيكفا”.
